Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic mid-century example of the iconic “Goose Girl” (Gänseliesel) porcelain figurine, manufactured by Goebel in West Germany. This charming piece was originally designed by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1936 and remains one of the most beloved and recognizable designs in the entire M.I. Hummel collection.
This specific piece is the smaller 4-inch variant, cataloged as Mold #47 3/0.

- Trademark: Features the highly desirable TMK-2 “Full Bee” stamp inside the incised base along with a black “Germany”, accurately dating its production period between 1950 and 1953.
- Markings: The underside is clearly stamped with the blue Full Bee insignia and a black “Germany” stamp, alongside the incised mold number 47 3/0.
- Craftsmanship: Exquisite hand-painted details typical of the 1950s Goebel era, showcasing deep terracotta shoes, a beautifully shaded dark apron, and crisp orange detailing on the goose beaks.
Condition Report:
This figurine has been meticulously inspected from all angles. The matte porcelain glaze is vibrant and free of heavy staining or fading.
- Structure: Excellent vintage condition. There are NO broken or repaired goose necks, headscarf points, or pigtail ribbons (the most common damage points for this model).
- Note on Base: There is a minor, small unglazed gap/smooth chip on the inner raised rim of the underside base near the bee stamp, which appears to be a factory molding anomaly rather than post-production damage. (Please see photos for a close-up detail).
- Note on Packaging: This piece does not come in its original box.
